What was your first experience with music?
Dagon Von Lovecraft: “Well the first experience i can recall is buying my first cassette, which would have been KISS “Lick it up” from a store called, disc jockey back in the early 90s.”
How did you get into making music?
DVL: “Started as alot of kids probably did in the 90s, playing on pots and pans, in my mother’s kitchen and getting yelled at for making too much racket.”
Who are your musical influences?
DVL: “The list is very long and extensive but I can give you a few, Slayer, Megadeth, John Lennon, GG Allin, John Zorn, Dead Kennedys, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Frank Zappa, Just to name a few.”
What or who inspires you?
DVL: “I mean other than the obvious, being music. I’m inspired by alot of things, my daughter has inspired of lot of my music, previous relationships, books, especially H.P lovecraft, who obviously inspired my stage name. Also I am a avid documentary enthusiast, which has also inspired alot of my songs in the past.”
Do you have any advice for aspiring musicians?
DVL: “Don’t give up until you are dead. The world always needs more music, whether loved by millions or just a few.”
When will your next album be released?
DVL: ” Newest Album North end of No where, was released in may and is available on major streaming services.”
When can fans expect a future release?
DVL:”Well I will be heading back into Watchmen Studios in October, so they can expect some new singles around then, and a new album in 2024.”
Was there anything in particular that inspired you when writing, your latest single “Epitaph”?
DVL: “Well it was definitely inspired by everything I’ve been through in the last couple years, life has been rough, but beautiful, also being faced with my own mortality more than any human would probably like to be.”
